Up this week are tables, kegs, chairs, and part of a store set from Ainsty. Ainsty has some very cool ranges, all in resin, and are located in the UK. Naturally this means fairly steep shipping for those of us in North America (to be honest, it's getting crushing from everywhere to anywhere it seems).
It's interesting to me how much longer figs with lots of colours, and colour decisions, take me to finish vs something that is either bland or I've pre-determined a 'recipe' (such as adding more troops to an already painted force).
I found painting food (specifically bread and pie) to be a bit challenging when on tables that are already brown. Lots and lots of brown appearing in these items.
The shelves I attempted to jazz up a bit with more colours, and some white labels. I eventually got tired of it though, and didn't finish off more of the boxes. Hopefully it looks find from a distance. The most detailed stuff was the documents on the table with the skull.
They look great though!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about painting taking longer, if I'm not painting an existing recipe I spend twice as long digging through my boxes of paints, and an inordinate amount of time pausing to ponder my next colour choice...
Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that. It's lovely to have analysis paralysis company....
DeleteRegardless of the grind these turned out rather nicely mate. Will have to check out Ainstay, this type sculpts would be fun to have to add colour to my rpg sessions.
ReplyDelete(O and I found a US stockist for Ainsty. :) http://www.recreationalconflict.com/ )
DeleteRight. I forgot they got a US distributor. When I bought mine (oh the dusty dusty shameful mountain of lead), it was just the UK guy (who I think had recently bought the company out from another person).
DeleteDefinitely worth a look for various items.
