2024 Enfilade - Last ride of the Dust Devil Boys

Friday traffic was awful and I got to the convention late, so my signed up game had filled. I ended up hoping into the game my friend James ran. Each player made a cowboy (points to buy equipment and ability upgrades). My cowboy, The Book Man, had a thoroughbred horse, charm, and mad horse skillz. Order of play was by a deck of cards with facecards giving some minor bonus.

The outlaws have made their last big score and are racing towards Mexico with the largest posse every assembled coming after them. Resistance is futile, they have to escape, but only glory lives forever so their job is to get the most renown (individually).

I forget some of the names, but 'Kissing Kate', Lord Byron <something>, and Rusty Red (?) I think made appearances.

First stop in town quickly resulted in chaos. Bookman enters a general store and lacking funds attempts a robbery. It goes poorly and the dead shopkeepers daughter sends the famed 'Rooster' bounty hunter after my cowboy.

The saloon is blown up with dynamite and in the chaos Kissing Kate knifes another famous gunslinger to death. The second dynamite stick meant for the sheriffs office comes up short and blasts the outlaw 'throwing it' off their horse.

Poor timing as the posse hits the table, not too far behind us. Skedaddle!

A stage coach races out of town with many outlaws in hot pursuit. A number of my picks didn't come out, but the bounty hunters gets killed (making me relax), a farm daughter gets wooed (eventually....she kept going on and on about some guy named Bernard at first), and a number of outlaws come under attack in the pass by the local native tribe.

The stage is caught and robbed just before it reaches the adobe village. Bookman was beat to it by Lord Byron, and the duo spread out for more chaos. Bookman agrees to help a gunrunner, while Byron, the good protestant he is robs the Catholic church.

Kissing Kate, the hard working entrepreneur, rustles some cattle and drives them to the local butcher/abbatoir.

The outlaw wooing the farmers daughter but manages to slip into the Posse and maintain their hidden identity....almost to the end.

The gun running cart is painfully slow... The other outlaws catch up and we mostly race across the river at the same time. Two or Three of the outlaws were taken, but one missing member was busted loose from the Adobe village Jail.

The saloon sees a gun fight between one of the outlaws and a cowboy talking to sweet Falina, the outlaws girlfriend.

Another cowboy takes exception to his friend getting gunned down and goes for the outlaw. I feel like the cowboy died but one of the outlaws went down around the same time...possibly the charmer who busted out of the posse for a chance at escape.

As the Posse rides into town the escape is complete and Kissing Kate takes honours as the most notorious outlaw of the Dust Devil Boys.
